What should I expect at a worship service?

A Warm Welcome

You will be welcomed by a greeter at the door to help you with any questions you might have. You are welcome to meet people or go straight to a seat before the service begins.

You can fill out a Welcome Card or briefly introduce yourself during the service, but both are optional.

Worship Service

God is worshiped through songs, prayer, Scripture reading, and the sermon. The service also celebrates what God is doing in the church community.

The worship service is normally around an hour and a half long. It is in English, with simultaneous Japanese interpretation available through headsets.

Come as you are and worship with us!

Kids, Youth & Nursery Space

Children and young people are very welcome at KBF. KBF Kids and RISE meet during the worship service, after the greeting time.

Parent and Child Space (Under 4): A space for young children and their parents, with the service shown on a screen.

KBF Kids (Age 4 through Grade 4): Songs, Bible teaching and crafts, in English with Japanese translation.

RISE Youth (Grades 5–12): A place for students to make friends, explore the Christian faith, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Fellowship

After the service, please stay for refreshments and conversation. It is a great chance to meet people, ask questions, and get to know the KBF community.

Small Groups

Small groups meet from 11:45 am after the service for Bible study and conversation. These include women’s and men’s groups, and Cafe Fellowship.

Our wider ministries include Blossom, for people with disabilities, and the Cancer Philosophy Cafe.

Different small groups and ministries meet on different Sundays so please reach out and ask if you are interested in attending.
