Who We Are
Kurume Bible Fellowship (KBF) is a Protestant Christian church in Higashi-Kurume, Tokyo. We meet on the school campus of Christian Academy in Japan.
Our services are in English with simultaneous Japanese interpretation through headsets. We are from every language and nation and we desire to lift high the name of Jesus and grow in Christ as we serve our community together.

Our History
Kurume Bible Fellowship (KBF) began in the early 1960s when several missionary families gathered together for worship after arriving in Japan.
In the 1970s, the church established a governing board (now known as the Church Council) and called its first pastor.
Over the following decades, KBF grew into a vibrant Protestant church serving both the local community and people from many nations.
More recently, the pastors serve together as a pastoral team, strengthening the church’s ministry and its mission in Japan.
In 2014, under the leadership of the pastoral team, several members were sent out to plant a church in Ikebukuro, Tokyo Life Church.
Today, KBF continues to welcome people from many backgrounds as we worship God, follow Jesus, and share His love with our community.
Our Leadership
Jesus is the head of our church, and together we seek to follow His leading.
Leadership is shared among the congregation, Council, and staff. Members and partners participate in the life and direction of the church through serving, sharing gifts, and participating and voting at congregational meetings.
The Council provides leadership and oversight for the church. Council members are elected by the congregation to serve two-year terms.
